Gray Lady Self Defense Classes & Services
Whether you are a new gun owner, inexperienced or just feel that you need some help with the fundamentals this basic handgun class is for you. In this class I will take you step by step through learning gun safety and how to load and shoot. The hands on instruction begins with the shooting foundations and teaches the fundamentals to shoot confidently and accurately. I have honed this class after successfully teaching many new women shooters. More info and register here.
What’s a “Chunky Monkey”? I developed and delivered this class to many women over the last two years. It works, for WOMEN! This is not a basic pistol class. Plus a Concealed Weapons Permit is NOT required. There are NO live firearms for this class. We use laser training systems to measure your performance of each skill learned. This system is a very effective teaching and learning tool! If you are serious about improving your firearm skills, this firearms training class is for YOU! More info and register here.
Why Gray Lady Self Defense?
First, I’m qualified.
- NRA certified Basic Pistol Instructor
- NRA certified Range Safety Officer
- Chapter Co-Leader The Well Armed Woman (TWAW) Summerville/Charleston SC Shooting Chapter
- Member, Competitor International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA)
- Red Cross Certified First Aid, CPR and Stop the Bleed
I started my journey into the world of firearms ownership at the age of 52, having never held a pistol, let alone shot a firearm, except maybe that BB gun around age 9 or 10. I’ve worked an office job for 30+ years, 16+ years of that from home, and was often alone in the house all day long. I was never in the military or law enforcement, and didn’t grow up learning to shoot guns.
In 2014, my husband and I decided to get our concealed weapons permit, and my introduction to The Well Armed Woman Shooting Chapters began that same year at my husband’s encouragement. It soon became my passion to learn as much as I could about firearms safety, shooting, self-defense. Soon thereafter, I was encouraged by my instructors (Toni Rastello and the awesome professional instructors at Shoot Logic) to share what I was learning with other women, so they too could be empowered with the knowledge to protect themselves and their loved ones.
